Offshore
A check of the sea (0700-0800) produced 147 Common Scoter, 93 Sandwich Tern, 44 Gannet, 15 Kittiwake, 13 Red-throated Diver, 9 Manx Shearwater, 7 Red-breasted Merganser, 7 Guillemot and 2 Razorbill.
Grounded Migrants
Totals of 12 White Wagtail, 11 Blackcap, 8 Wheatear, 8 Willow Warbler and single Whitethroat and Chiffchaff were logged.
Diurnal Migration
A Tree Pipit flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 6 Whimbrel and a Common Sandpiper.
Breeding Birds
Warbler numbers are also starting to build in the island’s breeding habitat with 21 Willow Warbler, 7 Chiffchaff, 5 Whitethroat, 5 Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Sedge Warbler and 3 Blackcap logged.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow remains and 2 Water Rail were logged. The Tawny Owl put in another appearance.
