Hen Harrier is pick of the day

Offshore
Although no coordinated observations were undertaken during calm conditions early morning 12 Common Scoter, 6 Shag, 4 Sandwich Tern, 2 Gannet and 2 Red-throated Diver were logged.
Diurnal Migration
Highlights were 10 Grey Wagtail, 4 Siskin, 2 Lesser Redpoll and a Tree Pipit amongst small numbers of Meadow Pipit, Swallow and alba Wagtail.
Grounded Migrants
The most activity for several days with 24 Goldcrest, 17 Robin, 15 Chiffchaff, 4 Willow Warbler, 2 Spotted Flycatcher and single Sedge Warbler and Wheatear recorded.
Wildfowl and Waders
A Whimbrel and 2 juvenile Spotted Redshank were the pick of the waders.
Miscellaneous
A ringtail Hen Harrier hunted the saltmarsh along the eastern shore of the island in the evening and other raptors involved Merlin, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
