Further Goldcrest invasion

Offshore
For the first time in several days visibility allowed for a quick check of the sea but observations proved disappointing with just small numbers of Red-throated Diver, Gannet and Common Scoter logged.
Grounded Migrants
A further Goldcrest invasion was in evidence with 31 birds logged, also recorded were 2 Chiffchaff and a small influx of Blackbird and Robin.
Diurnal Migration
A slow but steady trickle of Meadow Pipit accompanied 3 Siskin.
Wildfowl and Waders
The female Long-tailed Duck remains and there are now 2 female Scaup amongst 11 Goldeneye. Waders included 2 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
A Water Rail squealed and several Little Egret were logged. The itinerant Twite flock held 60 birds.
