Common Scoter head north

Offshore
Common Scoter were on the move early morning (0615-0715) with 840 birds logged. Otherwise it was quiet with 12 Sandwich Tern, 2 Little Tern, 2 Arctic Skua, 2 Red-throated Diver and a Gannet seen.
Diurnal Migration
Small numbers of Swallow continue to move through.
Grounded Migrants
Although there was a sprinkling of further Sedge Warbler on territory otherwise the only evidence of grounded birds involved 15 Wheatear.
Wildfowl and Waders
The Brent Goose flock contained 3 pale-bellied and 2 dark-bellied birds.
