Hen Harrier and Scaup

Offshore
A check of the sea revealed just 6 Common Scoter.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes involved: 61 Redwing, 6 Fieldfare and 4 Song Thrush. Also seen were 2 Goldcrest and a Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
Surprisingly prominent with 1030 Pink-footed Goose, 620 Starling, 100 Meadow Pipit, 33 Linnet, 12 Skylark, 4 Stock Dove, 3 Siskin, 3 Reed Bunting, 2 Rock Pipit and 2 Brambling.
Wildfowl and Waders
The 3 Scaup remain and waders included 4 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Birds of prey were also prominent with a ringtail Hen Harrier, 2 Peregrine, 2 Merlin, 2 Sparrowhawk and a Kestrel logged. A group of 30 Twite were also logged.
Ringing
Several colour-ringed Cormorant were seen.
