Black Brant & Water Pipit

Rarities
The adult Black Brant put in an appearance amongst the pale-bellied Brent Geese feeding in Walney Channel off Long Rein Point on the morning tide. A Water Pipit was in the flooded horse paddocks along Biggar Bank at high tide.
Offshore
Morning observations (0830-0930) produced 19 Common Scoter, 19 Red-throated Diver, 3 Red-breasted Merganser and a Kittiwake.
Wildfowl and Waders
The Brent Goose flock held 272 pale-bellied birds.
Miscellaneous
The high tide flushed 31 Rock Pipit and 59 Twite from the salt marshes. Raptors included 2 Merlin and a Peregrine.
