A Marsh Harrier flies through and another fall of migrants

A flock of 35 Sandwich Tern fed offshore.
Grounded Migrants
Another overcast and misty start produced a significant fall with Redstart, Whinchat and Sedge Warbler all new for the year. Totals included 100 Willow Warbler, 100 Wheatear, 31 Blackcap, 6 Redstart, 6 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Chiffchaff and single Whinchat and Sedge Warbler.
Diurnal Migration
A Marsh Harrier was quickly encouraged to move on by the gull colony and a skein of 60 Pink-footed Geese headed north. Also logged were 85 Swallow, 35 Meadow Pipit and single Sparrowhawk, Peregrine and alba Wagtail.
Wildfowl and Waders
A flock of 35 Black-tailed Godwit roosted over the tide before heading high north as dusk approached. At least 6 Whimbrel were logged along with the lingering Greenshank and Spotted Redshank.
