Further seabird movement

Offshore
Morning observations on the falling tide (0800-1000) produced 262 Manx Shearwater, 170 Gannet, 48 Guillemot, 19 Sandwich Tern, 18 Kittiwake, 12 Common Scoter, 3 Razorbill, 2 Arctic Tern and single Arctic Skua and Fulmar.
Wildfowl and Waders
A rather late than normal spring passage of Sanderling was noted with 650 birds logged.
Ringing
The Sanderling flock included two colour-ringed birds – details hopefully to follow.
Moths
Newly emerged species include Shoulder – striped Wainscot and Cabbage Moth and a number of micros including Light Brown Apple Moth, Cyclamen Tortrix, Plum Tortrix, Eucosma campoliliana, Elachista argentella, Elachista atricomella and Epiblema cynosbatella.
