Offshore
Predictably quiet over the sea as the wind switched to the NW with early morning (0630-0730) producing 180 Sandwich Tern, 135 Common Scoter, 29 Gannet, 9 Guillemot, 4 Manx Shearwater, 3 Razorbill, 2 Kittiwake and single Red-breasted Merganser and Arctic Skua.
Grounded Migrants
Never known to have bred on the island a juvenile Treecreeper was most likely the result of post-breeding dispersal from the nearby mainland.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 49 Black-tailed Godwit and the first Common Sandpiper of the autumn.
Butterflies and Moths
A small catch in the moth trap overnight, although Dingy Footman was new for the year.
