Hooded Crow puts in another appearance

19th October 2019 – bright and sunny/V1, showers by evening
Offshore
A scan of the sea revealed 5 Shag while 2 Velvet Scoter were also reported.
Grounded Migrants
Again grounded birds were at a premium, early morning thrushes involved 20 Redwing and 3 Song Thrush while warblers were limited to 12 Goldcrest, 2 Blackcap and 2 Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
Disappointingly quiet with just 315 Pink-footed Goose, 265 Jackdaw, 55 Skylark, 30 Meadow Pipit, 30 Tree Sparrow, 10 Pied Wagtail, 9 Reed Bunting, 5 Greenfinch, 4 Siskin and single Rock Pipit, Grey Wagtail and Lesser Redpoll recorded through the morning in the seemingly ideal conditions .
Miscellaneous
The reappearance of the Hooded Crow was the best of the rest.

A Red Admiral was on the wing.
