Eyes to the skies

Offshore
A quick scan of the sea at low tide revealed 120 Sandwich Tern, 6 Gannet and 6 Shag
Grounded Migrants
Little was grounded in the clear conditions with just 11 Robin, 4 Wheatear, 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Goldcrest and single Whitethroat, Chiffchaff and Stonechat logged.
Diurnal Migration
In contrast the skies were busy up to mid-morning with totals including 800 Swallow, 60 Sand Martin, 41 Pied Wagtail, 40 Meadow Pipit, 29 Grey Wagtail, 19 Siskin, 10 Tree Pipit, 10 House Martin and 3 Yellow Wagtail.
Wildfowl and Waders
A couple of Wigeon were newly arrived.
Miscellaneous
The Hooded Crow remains.
