Diurnal migration dominates sightings

Grounded Migrants
A total of 42 Redwing were grounded at first light but quickly moved on as the sun rose, also seen were 5 Song Thrush and 4 Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
Clear skies and light winds saw diurnal migration dominate sightings. Totals through the course of the morning included 520 Meadow Pipit, 180 Pink-footed Goose, 150 Skylark, 142 Jackdaw, 55 Swallow, 50 Greenfinch, 48 Linnet, 42 Starling, 40 alba Wagtail, 20 Reed Bunting, 7 Siskin, 4 House Martin, 2 Tree Sparrow, 2 Rock Pipit and single Great Spotted Woodpecker and Grey Wagtail.
Miscellaneous
Single Water Rail and Merlin were seen.
Butterflies
A few Red Admiral continue to move through while both Comma and Small Copper remain on the wing.
