11th September 2010 – early rain then sunny spells SW3/4
Offshore
Early morning observations (0745-0845) produced 110 Common Scoter, 46 Sandwich Tern, 22 Razorbill, 19 Gannet, 2 Red-throated Diver and single Manx Shearwater and Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
An increase in grounded birds from recent days with 17 Chiffchaff, 10 Wheatear, 4 Willow Warbler, 3 Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Blackcap and 2 Whitethroat logged.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 40 Greenshank, 4 Curlew Sandpiper, 3 Whimbrel and single Little Stint and Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
A post-roost gathering of Little Egret contained 30 birds, including 7 colour-ringed individuals and additional sightings included Water Rail, Merlin and Barn Owl.
