Grounded Migrants
A late Cuckoo was a surprise and newly arrived birds involved 14 Chiffchaff, 5 Whitethroat, 4 Robin, 3 Willow Warbler, 2 White Wagtail, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Wheatear. In addition a flock of 10 Long-tailed Tits were recorded.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders still provide interest with 21 Greenshank, 6 Curlew Sandpiper and single Little Stint and Black-tailed Godwit logged.
Miscellaneous
Good numbers of Little Egret continue to roam the island’s salt marshes where four colour-ringed individuals have now identified.
