21st November 2007 - misty and damp S2
The Black Guillemot remained in the sheltered waters of Walney Channel.
A few new birds were in evidence with 15 Blackbird, 7 Song Thrush, 2 Chiffchaff and singles of Goldcrest and Redwing logged.
Some late movement included 26 Pink-footed Goose, 11 Siskin, 4 Grey Wagtail and a Brambling.
Wildfowl and Waders
A single Purple Sandpiper was the pick of the waders logged.
A varied selection included a number of long-stayers with 50 Twite, 5 Little Egret and 2 Hooded Crow logged along with single Water Rail and Coal Tit - the later perhaps surprisingly still an island scarcity.
