Geese to the fore

Offshore
Early morning observations on the rising tide (0730-0830) produced 44 Common Scoter, 38 Razorbill, 27 Red-breasted Merganser, 12 Gannet, 6 Red-throated Diver and a Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
Thrushes were again to the fore with 54 Fieldfare and single Rdwing and Mistle Thrush logged.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 18 Pink-footed Geese flew north in 2 small skeins.
Wildfowl and Waders
Geese continue to dominate, the Brent Goose flock held 112 pale-bellied birds and 58 dark-bellied individuals while the long-staying flock of Barnacle Geese held 42 birds. Waders included 3000 Knot, 550 Golden Plover, 4 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
A flock of 30 Twite and several Little Egret were seen.
