Offshore
A short evening check of the sea revealed 30 Sandwich Tern, 2 Kittiwake and single Arctic and Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Wheatear continue to dominate with 40 birds logged, also seen were single Spotted Flycatcher, Chiffchaff and Blackcap along with 2 White Wagtail.
Wildfowl and Waders
A pair of Garganey arrived to provide the highlight of the day, waders included 3000 Dunlin and 12 Whimbrel..
Moths
Dog’s Tooth and Angle Shades have now emerged.
Ringing
A Chiffchaff bearing ring sequence HXL*** was controlled – details are awaited with interest.
