First Brambling and Whooper Swan of the autumn

12th October 2023 – bright and sunny ENE1/2
Offshore
A scan of the sea revealed just 24 Shag ,7 Red-throated Diver and 7 Common Scoter. The Long-tailed Duck remains along the eastern shore.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes involved 2 Redwing and 2 Song Thrush; however, another influx of tits was also apparent with 28 Blue Tit, 8 Great Tit and 3 Coal Tit logged along with 24 Goldcrest, 5 Chiffchaff and a Wheatear.
Diurnal Migration
Totals of 500 Jackdaw, 375 Pink-footed Goose, 113 Whooper Swan, 80 Skylark, 76 Swallow, 55 Chaffinch, 30 Tree Sparrow, 16 Carrion Crow, 12 Siskin, 4 House Martin, 3 Lesser Redpoll and 2 Brambling flew through.
