Marsh Harrier reappears

16th November 2023 – overcast/calm
Offshore
Observations over the sea (0800-0900) produced 240 Common Scoter, 27 Shag, 3 Red-throated Diver, 3 Razorbill, 2 Gannet and a Great Northern Diver. The Slavonian Grebe was again off the eastern shore.
Grounded Migrants
A Chiffchaff was seen.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 210 Pink-footed Geese flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
The Long-tailed Duck remains and the Brent Goose flock held a record 548 light-bellied birds and 14 dark-bellied birds. Waders included 15 Greenshank and a Jack Snipe amongst 95 Snipe.
Miscellaneous
The Hooded Crow remains and the female Marsh Harrier put in another appearance. However, only 4 Twite were seen.
