Great Northern Diver and Scaup
26th February 2022 – overcast then sunny spells SSE3/4

Observations over the sea (0800-0900) revealed 37 Common Scoter, 8 Red-throated Diver, 5 Red-breasted Merganser and a Great Northern Diver.
Grounded Migrants
Four Redwing were seen.

Remaining quiet over the sea (0800-0900) with just 9 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Merganser and a Razorbill logged.
Diurnal Migration
The first 11 Whooper Swans headed north.

The Hooded Crow, 50 Twite and 2 Tree Sparrow were the best of the rest. A small influx of Lesser Black-backed Gulls was noted.

Water Pipits reappear
18th February 2022 – rain/sleet/hail showers W6/7
Rarities
At least two Water Pipit was amongst the Rock Pipit and Meadow Pipit feeding in the flooded fields in the vicinity of Biggar.

Sightings (0800-0900) were limited to 10 Common Scoter, 4 Red-breasted Merganser, 3 Kittiwake and single Gannet and Red-throated Diver.

The sea (0900-1000) during the aftermath of Storm Dudley proved to be very disappointing with just 14 Kittiwake, 6 Red-throated Diver, 3 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Merganser and a Razorbill.
Diurnal Migration
A flock of 16 Barnacle Geese flew through.

The Brent Goose flock held 100 light-bellied birds.
