The birds appear as the weather finally relents

Offshore
A quick check offshore on the rising tide produced a single Great Northern Diver amongst 32 Red-throated Diver along with 55 Common Scoter, 9 Shag and a Kittiwake.
Diurnal Migration
A southbound Snow Bunting headlined and other sightings included a total of 350 Pink-footed Geese heading north, a family party of 5 Whooper Swan heading south and 2 unusually late Siskin.
Wildfowl and Waders
The flock of pale-bellied Brent Geese increased to 62 birds and 8 dark-bellied birds were also logged. At least 7 Greenshank continue to over-winter.
Miscellaneous
At least 10 Little Egret remain to stalk the island salt marshes, the ringtail Hen Harrier put in another appearance a couple of Merlin were logged and finch flocks included 100 Goldfinch, 80 Twite, 30 Greenfinch and 30 Linnet.
