Honey Buzzard leads sightings

Rarities
A pale morph Honey Buzzard drifted low over the south end of the island before heading north-east when attracting the attentions of the gull colony.
Grounded Migrants
A further small-scale movement of Willow Warbler was evident with 10 birds logged. Also seen were 20 Pied Wagtail and single Wheatear, Lesser Whitethroat and Grey Wagtail.
Diurnal Migration
A few Swallow and Swift flew through and after the sun had burned off the morning mist an Osprey headed south.
Wildfowl and Waders
Teal and Shoveler numbers continue to build slowly. Waders highlights were led by a brace of juvenile Little Ringed Plover - the first of the year, along with 3 Whimbrel, 2 Greenshank and 2 Common Sandpiper.
Mammals
Both Red Fox and Brown Hare were logged.
Moths
A Small Rufous was just the second island record.
