First Wigeon of the autumn and a migrant Marsh Harrier

Offshore
Morning sightings (0800-1000) included 300 Common Scoter, 110 Manx Shearwater, 90 Gannet and 41 Sandwich Tern. The high tide period produced 2 Common Tern among a roost of 120 Sandwich Tern and 2 Shag fed offshore.
Diurnal Migration
A Marsh Harrier flew south late morning.
Grounded Migrants
The continued meagre rations were led by a Cuckoo.
Wildfowl and Waders
The first 2 Wigeon of the autumn were logged and waders included 24 Greenshank amongst good numbers of Redshank and a single Whimbrel.
Miscellaneous
A Merlin continues to hunt the island.
