Offshore
Morning observations (0730-0830) revealed 80 Sandwich Tern, 16 Common Scoter, 7 Guillemot, 5 Common Tern - the first of the year, 4 Gannet and single Arctic Skua (dark phase), Red-throated Diver and Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
The bright and clear conditions were not conducive to producing grounded birds and consequently just 7 Wheatear, 2 Willow Warbler and a Lesser Redpoll were likely candidates for new arrivals.
Diurnal Migration
Steady northbound hirundine movement throughout the morning saw 140 Swallow and 100 House Martin recorded, along with 4 Jackdaw.
