Black Tern, Black Guillemot and record numbers of Little Egret

Offshore
A Black Tern was the pick of early morning sightings and a Black Guillemot loitered in the sheltered waters along the eastern shore at low tide. Other sightings included 2 Shag and small numbers of Red-throated Diver, Gannet, Common Scoter, Razorbill and Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
Limited to single Chiffchaff, Goldcrest and Wheatear.
Diurnal Migration
A light passage included 100 Meadow Pipit, 55 Skylark, 30 Chaffinch, 20 alba Wagtail, 14 Siskin, 2 Redpoll, 2 Grey Wagtail and single Swallow and Rock Pipit.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 14 Greenshank and single Curlew Sandpiper and Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
Record numbers of Little Egret are now present along the eastern shore with a post roost assembly of 53 birds logged. A Merlin was the best of the rest.
