First Fieldfare of the autumn

Rarities
The Great White Egret was again at the north end of the island.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes included the first Fieldfare of the autumn amongst 7 Blackbird and 5 Redwing. Otherwise sightings were limited to single Wheatear, Goldcrest and Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
A reduced passage produced just 510 Pink-footed Geese, 500 Meadow Pipit, 40 Linnet, 20 alba Wagtail, 2 Tree Sparrow, and single Grey Wagtail, Rock Pipit and Brambling.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 600 Golden Plover, 12 Greenshank and 2 Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
Several Merlin continued to hunt the Meadow Pipits and 2 Barn Owl hunted at dawn.
