Offshore
Another scan of the calm but distant sea produced 130 Sandwich Tern, 10 Shag and 4 Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Warblers involved 6 Whitethroat, 5 Willow Warbler, 3 Sedge Warbler and a Cetti’s Warbler while 5 White Wagtail and 3 Wheatear were amongst 32 Pied Wagtail.
Diurnal Migration
Morning totals included 190 Swallow, 40 Sand Martin, 10 Tree Sparrow and 2 Tree Pipit.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 26 Greenshank and single Whimbrel, Black-tailed Godwit and Common Sandpiper.
Miscellaneous
Raptors involved 3 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk.
Butterflies and Moths
Four Painted Lady were seen and the light trap held 72 moths of 36 species with Chevron new for the year and migrants represented by several Rusty Dot Pearl.
