First Great Spotted Woodpecker of the autumn

Offshore
A quick check early morning produced 120 Common Scoter, 3 Red-throated Diver and 3 Shelduck.
Diurnal Migration
A slight increase in activity produced 200 Meadow Pipit, 50 Swallow, 12 alba Wagtail and 9 Grey Wagtail.
Grounded Migrants
Again variety if not quantity, sightings were led by a Great Spotted Woodpecker and also included 18 Goldcrest, 4 Willow Warbler, 3 Chiffchaff and single Whinchat, Lesser Whitethroat and Reed Warbler.
Wildfowl and Waders
Although water levels remain high after the recent rain waders included 4 Greenshank and 3 Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
In light of recent sightings a group of 4 Little Egret was a poor showing.
