Grey Phalarope still in residence

4th October 2008 - wet and windy S3/4/5/6/7
Rarities
The Grey Phalarope remains in residence though proving elusive at times in the strong winds.
Offshore
Very quiet offshore (0800-0900) with just 5 Common Scoter and single Gannet and Razorbill logged.
Wildfowl and Waders
A group of 6 pale-bellied Brent Geese were new in and waders included Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit and Ruff.
Miscellaneous
A Merlin was seen and 4 Little Egret was probably a poor reflection on the numbers actually present around the island.
