First Woodcock of the autumn

Rarities
The male Bearded Tit continues to tour the island’s reed beds.
Offshore
A check over the sea on the rising tide (0800-0900) revealed 71 Gannet, 44 Kittiwake, 29 Common Scoter, 20 Razorbill and 6 Shag.
Grounded Migrants
Newly grounded birds were few but included 6 Redwing and 3 Goldcrest.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 19 Greenshank and single Ruff and Woodcock.
Miscellaneous
Additional sighting included 27 Twite, 2 Jay, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Water Rail.
Moths
A Silver Y was all the moth trap could muster.
