Black Brant still

Rarities
The adult Black Brant was again in Walney Channel just south of Jubilee Bridge at low tide amongst 40 pale-bellied Brent Geese.
Offshore
An early morning check of the sea (0745-0845) produced 19 Red-throated Diver, 18 Red-breasted Merganser, 14 Razorbill, 3 Common Scoter and a Gannet.
Diurnal Migration
A skein of 29 Pink-footed Geese flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
The 5 Scaup (2 males & 3 females) remain.. Waders included 550 Golden Plover, 5 Greenshank and 5 Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
Lesser Black-backed Gull numbers are increasing slowly. Merlin and Peregrine were the best of the rest.
