First Sand Martin of the year

Offshore
A group of 10 Shag fed close inshore on the morning rising tide.
Grounded Migrants
There was a slight increase in activity with 14 Goldcrest and 6 Chiffchaff logged.
Diurnal Migration
The first Sand Martin of the year was recorded. Early morning thrushes involved 18 Fieldfare and 3 Redwing before 100 Meadow Pipit and 6 Pied Wagtail flew through during the morning between the pulses of rain.
Wildfowl and Waders
The first-winter drake Long-tailed Duck and 5 Shoveler remain in residence along with a Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
At least 20 Twite remain along with several Little Egret.
