Weather causes fieldwork abandonment

Offshore
An inhospitable day saw just 50 Common Scoter and small numbers of Red-throated Diver, Manx Shearwater, Gannet, Kittiwake, Sandwich Tern and Razorbill logged.
Grounded Migrants
A Wheatear was the only evidence.
Wildfowl and Waders
The first-winter drake Long-tailed Duck remained in residence and waders included 1000 Knot, 40 Ringed Plover and a Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
A male Merlin hunted Linnets.
Moths
Common Quaker, Red Sword-grass and Early Thorn were the sole attractions to the moth trap.
