Offshore
Early morning (0630-0730) was quiet over the sea producing just 104 Sandwich Tern, 50 Guillemot, 19 Gannet, 8 Common Scoter and 3 Manx Shearwater.
Grounded Migrants
A Willow Warbler was the only migrant passerine logged.
Wildfowl and Waders
Five Black-tailed Godwit were logged.
Breeding Birds
A pair of Great Spotted Woodpecker are breeding on the island – only the second record.
Butterflies and Moths
A total of 166 moths of 26 species was the best return from the moth trap so far this year with Small Elephant Hawkmoth new for the year. Common Blue are now on the wing.
