Offshore
A scan of the sea revealed 3 Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
A light sprinkling of newly arrived migrants included 10 Willow Warbler, 6 Wheatear, 2 Blackcap and single Spotted Flycatcher, Chiffchaff and Garden Warbler – the latter the first of the year.
Diurnal Migration
Three Swift were new for the year and 2 Lesser Redpoll were the best of the rest.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 8 Whimbrel and a Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Two Reed Warbler are now on territory. Blackcap is a relatively recent colonist of the island and remarkably around 20 territorial males are now present on the island.
Butterflies and Moths
A field record of Pale Tussock outshone the moth trap which continues to provide little reward.
