Offshore
Early morning observations saw five species of tern recorded (0630-0730) with 226 Sandwich Tern, 12 Arctic Tern, 2 Common Tern, 2 Little Tern and 2 Black Tern logged. Also seen were 25 Common Scoter, 15 Gannet and 2 Red-breasted Merganser before the rain set in.
Grounded Migrants
The male Firecrest was still singing in the observatory garden.
Diurnal Migration
Two Swift flew in off the sea.
Wildfowl and Waders
Only 6 Whimbrel were of note.
