Short-eared Owl and Hooded Crow

Offshore
A look over the sea (0630-0730) produced 100 Sandwich Tern, 48 Common Scoter, 26 Kittiwake, 9 Gannet, 8 Red-throated Diver, 6 Guillemot and a Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Little of note with just 18 Wheatear, 5 White Wagtail and single Willow Warbler and Blackcap logged.
Diurnal Migration
Two Lesser Redpoll and a Siskin were amongst a trickle of Swallow and a skein of 186 Pink-footed Geese headed north.
Wildfowl and Waders
Wildfowl involved 3 Pink-footed Geese and a dark-bellied Brent Goose. Waders included a record breaking 212 Whimbrel.
Miscellaneous
The day’s highlights were provided by single Short-eared Owl and Hooded Crow. Two Raven were the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
The first Red Admiral of the year was logged and the moth trap held a Pebble Prominent.
