Migration continues apace

Offshore
Small numbers of Sandwich Tern, Gannet and Common Scoter were logged early morning.
Grounded Migrants
A few grounded birds were again in evidence with 15 Robin, 5 Stonechat, 4 Whitethroat, 2 Wheatear and single Whinchat and Blackcap amongst the species logged.
Diurnal Migration
Observations (0730-0930) produced totals of 660 Meadow Pipit, 135 Pink-footed Goose, 63 Swallow, 24 Grey Wagtail, 14 Skylark, 10 House Martin, 5 alba Wagtail, 3 Snipe, 3 Redpoll, 2 Sand Martin, 2 Siskin and 2 Reed Bunting.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 60 Sanderling and single Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Raptors included 3 Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Merlin and Peregrine.
Dragonflies
At least 5 Migrant Hawker were logged.
Moths
The first Pink-barred Sallow since 1998 was attracted to the moth traps.
