Hooded Crow and Scaup

9th November 2019 – overcast/rain at times ESE5/6
Offshore
Early morning observations over the sea (0745-0845) produced 115 Razorbill, 72 Common Scoter, 14 Shag, 3 Red-throated Diver and a Kittiwake.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes involved 21 Fieldfare and 6 Redwing. The only other evidence of newly grounded birds involved 2 Goldcrest.
Diurnal Migration
Limited to 140 Starling, 30 Pink-footed Goose, 16 Whooper Swan and a Siskin.
Wildfowl and Waders
The 2 female Scaup remain and waders included 11 Purple Sandpiper.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow and 2 Merlin were the best of the rest.
