Latish Sandwich Terns

Offshore
Observations over the sea (0800-1000) revealed 190 Razorbill, 180 Common Scoter, 105 Gannet, 37 Shag, 9 Guillemot, 6 Red-breasted Merganser and 2 Sandwich Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes involved 3 Redwing and a Fieldfare while additional newly grounded birds were limited to single Goldcrest and Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
A group of 14 Swallow flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
The Brent Goose flock held 300 light-bellied birds and 180 Pintail and 5 Pink-footed Geese were seen. Waders included 18 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Two Merlin were the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
The light trap held 33 moths of 12 species with Large Wainscot the dominant species while migrants involved Silver Y and Rusty Dot Pearl.
