Autumn passage begins to build

Offshore
The day started quietly over the sea (0700-0800) with just 56 Common Scoter, 44 Sandwich Tern and 35 Gannet logged. A flock of 90 Sandwich Tern and 22 Little Tern roosted over the tide.
Grounded Migrants
A Treecreeper – the fourth of the autumn, was amongst 40 Willow Warbler, 10 Sedge Warbler, 4 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Wheatear, 3 Whitethroat and a Spotted Flycatcher .
Diurnal Migration
The first Tree Pipit of the autumn flew over along with 20 Swallow.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 7 Greenshank, 3 Whimbrel and a Common Sandpiper.
Mammals
Two Weasels were seen.
Butterflies and Moths
Although 300 Painted Lady were seen the majority of the influx from several days ago appear to have moved on. The moth trap attracted 222 of 40 species with immigrants represented by 4 Silver Y, 3 Diamond-back Moth and a Rusty Dot Pearl.
