The merest hint of migration

8th April 2010 – sunny spells SW1/2
Offshore
An evening watch over the high tide produced 1000 Eider, 48 Common Scoter, 10 Gannet, 10 Sandwich Tern, 8 Red-breasted Merganser and 2 Red-throated Diver.
Grounded Migrants
Again only small numbers of newly arrived migrants were logged with just 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler and a single Goldcrest seen.
Wildfowl and Waders
The pair of Gadwall and small numbers of Goldeneye, Wigeon and Teal continue to linger while waders included 2 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Again just a single Little Egret was recorded.
