Water Pipits and Little Gulls

2nd April 2010 – overcast, rain by evening SE3/4
Rarities
Although remaining mobile at least 3 Water Pipit were again in the flooded fields and horse paddocks near Biggar.
Offshore
Observations (0800-0900 & 1445-1545) produced a total of 22 Little Gull (all adults) along with 80 Common Scoter, 20 Gannet, 17 Razorbill, 15 Sandwich Tern, 14 Kittiwake, 14 Red-throated Diver, 10 Red-breasted Merganser and 8 Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
Remaining sparse with just 7 Wheatear and a Fieldfare logged.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 100 Meadow Pipit flew through early morning.
Wildfowl and Waders
The Brent Goose flock held 90 pale-bellied birds and waders included 700 Golden Plover and a Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
The flock of 100 Twite remain.
