Ring Ouzels drop in

19th April 2010 – overcast/showers NE1/2 bright and sunny WNW3 later
Offshore
Early morning observations (0615-0715) produced 36 Gannet, 30 Razorbill, 22 Common Scoter, 12 Sandwich Tern and 10 Red-throated Diver.
Grounded Migrants
Overcast conditions and a couple of light showers early morning deposited a number of migrants on the island and produced the first fall of the spring. Sightings were led by 2 male Ring Ouzel and also included 65 Willow Warbler, 25 Wheatear, 4 Chiffchaff and 2 Blackcap
Diurnal Migration
Only evidenced by a trickle of Swallow.
Wildfowl and Waders
The pair of Gadwall remain and waders included 1000 Turnstone, 4 Whimbrel and Common Sandpiper.
Miscellaneous
At least one Little Egret and 22 Twite remain and a Merlin was logged
Moths
The island’s first Shoulder-stripe for over 10 years was attracted to the moth traps.
