Offshore
A single Shag and 12 Sandwich Tern were logged in low visibility.
Grounded Migrants
Although weather conditions were similar to the last few days, birds were less plentiful with just 11 Willow Warbler, 4 Wheatear, 2 Blackcap and single Chiffchaff and Robin.
Diurnal Migration
At least one Merlin continues to hunt the island and the first local Swallows returned to traditional breeding haunts. Passage included 25 Meadow Pipit, 10 alba Wagtail, 5 Collared Dove and single Redpoll, Siskin and Sand Martin.
Wildfowl and Waders
A handful of Pintail, Wigeon and Shoveler remain. A census of the Eiders roosting over the high tide produced 1380 individuals, drakes were predominant at a ratio of around 4:1. Single Greenshank and Spotted Redshank remain.
Mammals
At least 10 Grey Seals were offshore.
