Serin continues to draw admirers

Rarities
The female Serin lingers and continues to draw an appreciative audience.
Offshore
At least one Shag remains offshore. Combined totals for three hours of observations through the day (0700-1700) were 185 Gannet, 100 Kittiwake, 72 Common Scoter, 50 Sandwich Tern, 14 Guillemot, 12 Arctic Tern, 10 Manx Shearwater, 4 Fulmar, 2 Little Tern and 2 Arctic Skua.
Grounded Migrants
There was no evidence of any new arrivals with just 4 Wheatear, single Willow Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat and the long-staying Hooded Crow logged.
Diurnal Migration
Again limited to a few Swallows coming in off the Irish Sea.
Wildfowl and Waders
Just 10 Whimbrel were seen as numbers continue to dwindle. In addition, 3 Golden Plover were logged - a rather late date and 400 Knot continue to feed along the western shore.
Breeding Birds
Census work reveals the presence of 20-22 breeding pairs of Stonechat on the island.
Miscellaneous
A single Little Egret continues to stalk the island's tidal pools.
