Starlings and Dolphins

Rarities
The Rose-coloured Starling was again present feeding with a c20 Starling in the dunes between the lighthouse and ruined gun emplacement at South Walney Nature Reserve.
Offshore
Intermittent observations over the sea (0615-0800) revealed 32 Common Scoter, 20 Sandwich Tern, 17 Manx Shearwater, 10 Gannet, 4 Guillemot, 2 Puffin and an Arctic Tern.
Diurnal Migration
A single Swift flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Wildfowl included the summering male Wigeon.
Mammals
Several pods comprising a total of 14 Bottle-nosed Dolphin were offshore early morning.
Butterflies
A small influx of Red Admiral was noted.
