Offshore
Early morning observations (0600-0700) produced 66 Common Scoter, 57 Manx Shearwater, 36 Gannet, 14 Sandwich Tern and a Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Grounded birds involved 3 Willow Warbler while the long-staying Yellow Wagtail was joined by a second bird.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 14 Swift flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 100 Sanderling and single Common Sandpiper, Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit and Snipe.
Breeding Birds
Two Water Rail called from suitable breeding habitat.
Butterflies and Moths
A total of 264 moths of 65 species were attracted overnight with immigrants represented by The Vestal and Silver Y. Straw Underwing, Small Rufous, Dot Moth, Mouse Moth and Chequered Grass-veneer were all new for the year with the latter appearing to be the first island record.
