16th July 2019 – cloudy start then warm and sunny SW2
Offshore
Early morning observations (0630-0730) were led by single Arctic Skua and Shag but otherwise it was fairly quiet with only 55 Gannet, 37 Common Scoter, 10 Sandwich Tern, 6 Little Tern, 6 Manx Shearwater, 6 Guillemot and 3 Arctic Tern recorded.
Grounded Migrants
Grounded migrants involved 4 Willow Warbler, 3 Whitethroat and single Chiffchaff and Blackcap.
Diurnal Migration
Another Swift flew through.
Miscellaneous
A Stock Dove was the first of the year.
Butterflies and Moths
A total of 152 moths of 55 species were attracted overnight with Thistle Ermine, Yellow-tail and Grey Dagger new for the year.
