Offshore
Early morning observations (0630-0730) ahead of the approaching rain front produced 310 Manx Shearwater, 133 Sandwich Tern, 117 Common Scoter, 35 Gannet, 3 Razorbill, 2 Shag, 2 Arctic Skua and single Little Tern and Arctic Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Single Willow Warbler and Yellow Wagtail were the only obviously grounded migrants recorded.
Diurnal Migration
The obligatory Swift again flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 23 Sanderling, 21 Dunlin, 7 Knot, 3 Turnstone and a Whimbrel.
Butterflies and Moths
A total of 152 moths of 42 species were attracted to the moth trap overnight with Double Lobed and Garden Rose Tortrix new for the year.
